What’s cuter than a bunny cake topper? A bunny cake topper with a stripey bow tie! These bunny pals will jazz up any simple store-bought dessert, or they’ll add even more sparkle to a special homemade birthday cake covered in rainbow sprinkles. Plus, come mid April, they’ll be the hit of the Easter dessert table. So many fun uses for a sweet bunny cake topper!
What You Need
- Craft paper in fun colors (I used pink, striped, and white)
- Craft circle punches in various sizes (I used a 3-inch and 1-inch punch)
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Washi tape or regular tape
- Wooden BBQ sticks
- A black fine-tip marker
Step 1
Punch out a large circle for the face, two small circles in a different color for the cheeks. Cut out two round-tipped long rectangle shapes for the ears and smaller pieces for the inner ears. Cut out a tiny oval for the nose and two triangles and a circle for the bow tie.
Step 2
Glue the cheeks and the nose to the large circle.
Step 3
Glue the inner ears to the outer ears.
Step 4
Glue the ears to the face. Add a little glue to each triangle point and adhere to the circle to make the bow tie.
Step 5
Using your fine-tip marker, add simple whiskers and two black circles for eyes.
Step 6
Using washi tape in a matching color, adhere the face and the bow tie to a wooden BBQ stick.
Plunk your super cute bow-tie bunny cake toppers into mini chocolate cakes topped with pastel candy eggs! Or place them in a billowing meringue pie, or even on top of individual cupcakes.
Happy crafting! See you again soon with another cakey fun tutorial :)
