We’re in awe over this spectacular life-sized kaleidoscope – wow!! Can you believe it was built inside a shipping container? Japanese designers Masakazu Shirane and Saya Miyazaki teamed up to design and build this installation using folded mirrored panels to create the geometric shapes. The pieces are connected with zippers so that the structure can be altered and opened up by visitors.
We love Shirane and Miyazaki’s out of the box thinking for this exhibit – we only wish we could take a walk through this magical kaleidoscope ourselves! For now, we’ll keep ourselves busy crafting these regular-sized DIY kaleidoscopes from our archives.
