Listening to audiobooks before bedtime is nightly ritual that my children enjoy (Ann Twigg is practically a member of the family). Though obviously not a replacement for traditional reading, it’s a great supplemental tool for building listening skills, vocabulary and attention span.
I recently discovered Kiddie Records Weekly, which offers free audio streaming of classic children’s records from the 1940s and 1950s. I haven’t gotten a chance to put it into the rotation yet, but simply browsing the amazing collection of cover art has been a real treat!
