Here’s a simple craft project that you and your children can enjoy together. It only requires a few basic supplies and delivers super fun results in no time at all.
Materials
- Printable template (download here)
- Needle nose pliers
- Length of chain (from the craft store)
- Felt
- Hole punch
- Heavy fusible interfacing (fusible on one side)
- Disappearing ink marker
- Coordinating thread
- Two jump rings
Step 1
Print and cut out the template. Use the template to cut the felt and interfacing the correct size.
Next, iron the felt and interfacing together. Make sure that the “bumpy” side is facing the felt (that’s the sticky stuff). Neatly trim the edges.
Step 2
Using the disappearing ink marker and a ruler, draw the lines of the gem on the felt. Use the template as your guide.
Step 3
Use your sewing machine to sew over the lines with coordinating thread.
Step 4
Using a small hole punch, punch holes in the gem for attaching the chain.
Step 5
Use your needle nose pliers to attach the jump rings and chain.
Voila! Who needs diamonds anyway?
