As you already know, pretend play has many benefits. While doing things exactly like mom or dad, your child develops his/her creativity, analytical skills, logical reasoning but also communication and social development skills.
Play kitchens are among favorite pretend play games. Here are a few of our favorites…
Even if space is limited, you can set a little corner of your kitchen as a play kitchen set and prepare the meal while your little one is playing and mimicking every single move you make – and dinner is ready much faster!
I used to love sneaking behind a door and secretly listening to my little girls having a conversation in their play kitchen and now wish I had recorded them back then. These are truly precious moments, because most of the time, you realize they talk and do things exactly like you do!
Whether you “hack” an existing piece of furniture, make it completely from scratch as a DIY project or buy it from a store or scout a vintage one at a flea market, a play kitchen set will stimulate your child and make him/her play for hours and hours. And who knows, you may be raising the world’s next best cooking Chef! Bon appétit!
