Take a basic pencil, add our not-so-scary printable monster, and you’ve got a perfect Halloween treat that’s sure to bring smiles!
What You Need
- Printable Monster Pencil Toppers (download here)
- Pencils
- Wiggle eyes & craft glue (optional)
Step 1
Print the pencil toppers onto card stock. Cut out each monster, trimming just inside the dotted line.
Step 2
Punch a hole on each circle. Because most pencils are a tad larger than a standard hole punch, after you punch the hole, shift the punch slightly and punch again to enlarge the hole. It will take out a slivered moon shape.
Step 3
Slide the pencil through the holes, flexing the pencil topper a bit. You’ll find that it’s easier to work from the bottom of the pencil instead of the eraser end.
Step 4
When the monster is at the top of the pencil, you can smooth out the curve in the paper so it lays against the pencil more.
Step 5
For extra personality and to make your monsters even more fun, glue some wiggle eyes over the printed eyes!
Hand these out to trick-or-treaters, use them for a school party, or just enjoy having monsters around as you work. Your kids may even like doing a little monster puppet show with them!
