I was wandering around Pinterest the other morning, pinning this, that, and the other. You know, the usual! Suddenly I realized there was a theme to what I was pinning—everything seemed circular. There must be something about the start of a new year that makes me think about circles.
Is it that phrase, what goes around comes around? Or maybe it’s the circle of life. Is it the cycle of the seasons? I dunno. Maybe I just like round things. Maybe I’ve stumbled upon the next big trend. Whatever the reason, let’s get circular with some really gorgeous DIY projects!
DIY Stained Glass Embroidery Hoops

So many stained glass projects for kids end up with results that are exuberant, but not very designer-cool. This one manages to be both!
DIY Modern Lamp Made From Paper Plates

This is the absolute best use of those boring old paper plates I have ever seen and probably will ever see in my entire lifetime, bar none.
DIY Heart of Hope Dreamcatcher
visit mollymoo for the tutorial
I have wanted to design my own updated dream catcher with my daughter to help keep her bad dreams away. Then I found Michelle’s DIY and realized I just have to make hers!
DIY Bead Suncatcher

There’s a little subtheme to my post this week: sun catchers! I want to capture as much daylight as possible this time of year. Who knew we could melt a bunch of beads into something so beautiful?
DIY Crochet Vase

Now even your vases can be cozy and warm in the wintertime. I really need to learn how to crochet—when done in natural colors it has such a wonderful handmade minimal look.
DIY Melted Bead Suncatchers

Just one more sun catcher to wrap things up! The bigger scale of this one and the natural wood hoop look so lovely together, don’t you think? It’s like Perler Beads/Fuse Beads but a little more grown up.
