What do you think of Radiant Orchid, the official Pantone color of the year? A mix of fuchsia, purple, and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid is said to “emanate great joy, love and health.” I doubt we’ll be embracing this palette in our home this year, but it has inspired me to look for simple ways of adding modern and uplifting pops of color to our kids’ minimalist rooms.
Color is powerful—get creative and add a few colorful accents and accessories to your child’s room!

Oh I know, I’m a big kid at heart! Zoé de Las Cases’ retro-style cardboard characters have been a favorite for years. Prop them up against a wall, stand them on a shelf, or stick them on a door. These colorful kids will keep you smiling all day long!
Pictured at the top of this post: Cheer up a room with colorful balloons! Photographed by Petra Bindel and styled by Emma Persson Lagerberg, this colorful room is everything I love! White walls and white painted floors are a perfect canvas for pretty pops of color coming from balloons, pillows, and pastel Acapulco chairs. It would be fairly easy to create a similar happy space with just a few fun accessories and a little imagination, of course.
