Feeling inspired after watching the Jiro Dreams of Sushi documentary? Give your future sushi chef a head start with this build-your-own wooden sushi play food set from plaplax!
The 45-piece set gives your child everything they need to create their own sushi. It includes white blocks (the “shari,” or rice) for making nigiri-zushi, small cylinders for maki-zushi, and larger cylinders for futomaki. Black rubber bands stand in as nori, and the remaining pieces mimic the “netalgu” (toppings/fillings), including salmon, cucumber, kampyo, and pickled daikon. The pieces are stored in clever wooden pressed sushi mold with a lid that doubles as the serving tray.
The limited-run play food set is currently sold out, but the designers at plaplax are busy making more—stay tuned!
