I was driving around today and just stunned by the beautiful bright red leaves and neon ornage trees. I swear they’re everywhere, around every corner. Then I realized my sunglasses were partly to blame. I decided that’s ok, because it made the entire drive absolutely soul-lifting. I was literally smiling by the time I pulled into our driveway.
So this week, I’m clearly inspired by bright pops of color. What better way to celebrate that than these gorgeous DIYs – all of which feature something bright juxtaposed against something natural like raw wood. I love that combination so very much.
DIY Wooden Quilt
I love quilts, but I know I don’t have the patience to actually learn how to sew one. But with some wood scraps and some paint, I can create my own version – brilliant! Visit Giddy Giddy for the tutorial.
DIY Wooden Bead Bracelets
I think I have all of these supplies lurking in my crafty bins – I bet many of you are in the same boat. Plus, the kids (particularly a certain girl I know) will love the quick results. Visit Playful Learning for the tutorial.
DIY Coiled Rope Basket
You know that running joke about taking a class on basket-weaving in college? Yeah, secretly, I always actually wanted to take a real class on basket-weaving. Here’s my chance, how about yours? Visit Design*Sponge for the tutorial.
DIY Geometric Beads
I want to pass a lazy afternoon sanding beads and wood scraps into just the right shapes. It sounds very soothing – then I’d snap out of it with some zippy colorful paint accents! Visit Minieco for the tutorial.
