The leaves have fallen. They seem to get all the press this time of year, with their bright colors and beautiful shapes. It feels like every Fall-friendly craft project, decorating scheme, and kids handprint is about beautiful Fall leaves. They’re lovely, I know. But this year I’m obsessed with all of those sticks that fall along with them!
So while you’re out raking all of those beautiful leaves, pull the sticks out from the piles (you have to anyway if you plan on jumping!) and gather them up for some of these gorgeous Fall crafts. The best part about using sticks: the finished project will last a heckuvalot longer than those delicate leaves!
Twigs Pennant Garland
See the tutorial at Small for Big.
I’ve been so inspired by twigs that I created my own fall garland using all of our extra sticks and some gorgeous wool felt beads and shapes. The result makes me see a bit of the outdoors every time I look at it.
Twig Push Pins and Wall Hooks
See the tutorial at Design*Sponge.
These little beauties are so much sweeter than the plastic versions at the office supply store. I might even remember to update my cork board if I had these pinning around!
Woodsy Hanger
See the tutorial at Maize Hutton.
Like artwork on the walls, I’ve decided I need to rotate my favorite pieces clothing around my bedroom. I would showcase my beautiful things on a handmade branch hanger like this one.
Rustic Snowflakes
See the tutorial at Little Things Bring Smiles.
It’s easier to collect your sticks before the snow falls, so get a jump start on the decorating now! These would be gorgeous on a tree, but I love seeing them hanging on a wall or even as garland.
Household Hooks
See the tutorial at Homedit.
Finding beautiful ways to hang things is difficult. I’m so tired of the hooks in the aisles at Target. These look beautiful, and they’d be super affordable to make!
