When it comes to comfort food, chocolate chip cookies are at the top of my list. They are easy to make and all the ingredients are readily available in my kitchen (I do have a secret chocolate stash after all). So is there anything that can top a chocolate chip cookie on a not-so-great day? How about the biggest chocolate chip cookie EVER? Ok ok, there is probably a larger one in the Guinness Book of World Records, but at 15-inches, this is the biggest cookie I’ve ever made. It’s as easy as mixing up a batch of cookie dough and patting it into a pan. Plus, kids think giant cookies are AMAZING. Because they are.
What You Need
- Favorite cookie dough recipe
- Large pizza or cake pan
How To
Step 1
There isn’t much to this cookie! All you need is your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe and a pizza or cake pan. I used a lightly greased 15-inch pizza pan with a 2-inch tall rim. I doubled the recipe (I used this one here) and patted the cookie dough into the pan until the bottom was completely and evenly covered and the dough was about 3/4-inch thick. I did end up with a little left over cookie dough, but the rest can be baked into cookies (or used in ice cream.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and bake the cookie until golden brown and set around the sides (so about 20-22 minutes). This will result in a crispy edge and top, but a nice gooey center.
If you prefer your cookie less gooey, bake until the top is very golden brown (about 25-27 minutes) but keep an eye on it so it doesn’t over bake!
Eat the cookie warm, straight out of the pan with spoons (some ice cream on top wouldn’t hurt, either) or wait for it to cool a bit and cut it into slices like a pizza.
You can use a smaller size cake/pizza pan, just note that you won’t need as much cookie dough and the baking time will be much less.
Now all you need is a BIG glass of milk to wash it down :)
