My girls inherited my endless sweet tooth, and fortunately for them, they also got my mother’s love of baking! Last weekend Izzy and Charlotte banded together to make their first very own homemade cake. Too many cooks in the kitchen? Of course not! The more the merrier! The merrier, and the messier. With sugary streams of cake batter flowing from the countertops and giant clouds of flour hovering over our heads, Clorox Pump ‘N Clean™ Kitchen & Dish Cleaner was the cherry on top of our afternoon. Food-safe and family-friendly, this handy little helper made cleaning up sweet and simple, so we got more time to focus on the fun part :)

My favorite part? You can use it with just one hand! Meaning that while you’re wiping up the inevitable little messes and spills with one hand, you can be cooking (or if you’re anything like me, licking the bowl) with the other. It’s a sweet-toothed multitasking mama’s dream come true!

Super Sprinkle Double Stuffed Sugar Cookie Chocolate Cake Recipe

• 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
• 1 cup whole milk
• 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
• 4 eggs + 1 egg yolk
• 1/2 cup sour cream
• 1 1/3 cup flour
• 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar (Extra fine if you have it)
• 1 3/4 cup confectioners sugar
• 1 tablespoon baking powder
• 3/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup rainbow sprinkles divided (1/2 for batter, 1/2 for topping)
• About 2 cups chocolate frosting

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line two nine inch rounds with parchment paper. To start, melt butter in a microwaveable bowl on high. Add milk and stir briskly to reduce temperature of mixture. Add in sour cream, vanilla and stir. Add the eggs and stir quickly until mixture is smooth. Over the top of the liquid mixture sift in flour, powdered sugar, salt and baking powder. Add additional granulated sugar and rainbow sprinkles. Stir to combine. Pour into pans and bake 20-25 minutes.

I always say that a messy kitchen is a happy kitchen – and after this cake party, our kitchen was over the moon! So while the cooks were watching the oven, I snuck behind them and did a little cleaning of my own. I’m a fan of cleaning on-the-go when baking. This little bottle makes it easy peasy to swipe up the mess and get back to the fun.

The topping on this cake is super simple! Use sugar cookies and a little vanilla frosting to make sandwiches. Cut in half on a clean surface and place in a circle on top of cake. Then the most important part – douse with sprinkles.
