Let me start out by saying that prior to my recent visit to HSN headquarters, my experiences were limited to the handful of shows that I’ve come across while channel surfing. I had no idea what to expect when HSN invited me to come down for the launch of the HP Pavilion notebook. After finding out that my BFFs from Studio DIY, Design for Mankind, and Girls with Glasses were going as well, there was only one thing to say. Count me in!
Like I said, hsn.com wasn’t exactly my launch page before I headed down to their campus in St. Petersburg, Florida. I had no doubt it would be a cool experience, but what I didn’t expect was that I would be completely sold out to the charming hosts and the HSN community. The only way I can describe it is that it’s like being part of a giant, awesome club. You can literally feel the energy from the live audience and the viewers watching from home.
The most amazing part is that the giant live party (there are over 90 million viewers watching from home) literally never ends, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It’s clearly obvious that HSN employees truly believe in what they’re doing and the product their selling. How else could they keep up the momentum? They really do love passing along deals (HSN prices typically beat both Amazon and Walmart) and reaping the rewards of the deals.
My personal favorite stop on the HSN tour was the Emplorium. For employees and guests only, the deals in this overstocked shop are out of control. I was seriously considering a career change as I purchased a rad turquoise cuff bracelet for next to nothing.
The big word at HSN headquarters is FUN. It’s emblazoned everywhere you look and captured in the colorful, candy-coated posters that line the walls. After spending the day with HSN, I can honestly say that their tag line (“It’s fun here”) is the absolute, 100% truth. I’ll leave you with our Giant Bubble-Filled Fortune Cookie Confetti Mix that we made with our colorful new HP notebook to celebrate HSN’s birthday. Print out the good vibrations mix and let the good fortune fly!
