Build your very own rainbow! This is a super fun puzzle that allows kids to make their very own rainbow inside the house—again and again.
A word of rainbow warning: rainbow art fills the heart and I dare you to stick to just one rainbow puzzle. This is a rainbow your littles will be able to build time and time again. They can also paint new variations to fill their surroundings with color.
What You Need
- 2 cardboard pieces (both same size, roughly the size of letterhead)
- Craft knife
- Printable template (download here)
- Cardboard
- Paint
- Glue
How-To
Step 1
Paint cardboard a solid color and let dry.
Step 2
Download and print the template or draw by hand. Cut each color segment of the rainbow out individually and trace onto the cardboard piece that will be the upper puzzle top. Cut each color segment out.
Step 3
Paint each color of the rainbow. Let dry.
Step 4
Glue to top of the puzzle onto the bottom of the puzzle. Let dry.
Step 5
It’s time to play! Fit the rainbow puzzle pieces together for rainbow fun!
To make a St. Patrick’s Day variation:
Paint in bottom cardboard gold and let dry. This is the area that will only be seen when the rainbow is removed. Paint a metallic gold stripe along the bottom of each color of the rainbow as a hint to the golden treasure that lays on the other side of the rainbow. Let dry.
Enjoy!
