how-to:
FOR THE STRAW TOPPERS:
Step 1
Print the pinwheel straw topper page on card stock and cut out the pieces.
Step 2
Fold the tabs on the small rectangles and use a hole punch to make a hole at each end.
Check to see if your straws will fit through the holes. If the holes are too small, use the hole punch to make them a bit larger until they fit.
Step 3
Glue the folded tabs on the back of the pinwheel pieces.
Step 4
Slide the pinwheels onto the straws.
Step 5
Pour a cool beverage and enjoy the fancy version of dinner at home!
FOR THE PLACE CARDS:
Step 1
Print the confetti place card page on card stock and cut out the four cards.
Step 2
To make it easier to fold the cards, use the blade of the scissors to score the dashed fold line.
Step 3
Fold all the cards in half.
Step 4
On each card, write a family member’s name to make your meal more like a fancy dinner. You can also use these cards for adding in an activity for your meal. You could write questions to talk about as a family or even some silly jokes to share!
FOR THE UTENSIL POUCHES:
Step 1
Print the pinwheel utensil pouch page on regular paper. You will need one printed page per person. Cut out the two rectangle pieces for each pouch.
Step 2
Use a glue stick to glue around the two sides and the bottom of the front utensil pouch piece.
Step 3
Attach the printed front to the plain back. Let the glue dry.
Step 4
Slide some utensils into the pouch and have each person grab a set for their meal. You can also use these to hold a napkin and a set of chopsticks or even some small treats!
FOR THE WRAPS:
Step 1
Print the confetti wraps page on regular paper. Cut out the pieces.
Step 2
Roll the rectangular wraps around napkins and use glue stick to secure the ends.
Step 3
You can also use these to hold utensils or to add some decoration to other items. Want to make a mini banner to give your table a festive flare? Cut out triangles from the wrap pieces and tape them onto string!
FOR THE PLACEMATS:
Step 1
Print the pinwheel placemat page on regular paper. You will need one printed page per person.
These placemats go up and down so the pinwheels poke up over the top of your plates. Set a plate on top and finish setting the table!
With all the dinner party pieces finished, you’re ready to start your family night!
Each of the printable table elements works on its own or you can mix and match the pieces if you don’t want them all.
The next time you feel like family dinner needs something special, print some fun decorations and make it a celebration!
Happy crafting!
