If you enjoy playing the game Among Us, you will love making these little felt space crew beanbags! They’re also perfect for simply playing with and acting out stories from a space station. Really, who wouldn’t love some pastel astronauts?
These sweet little space friends fit in the palm of your hand and are completely snuggable, but they also stand up and can play together. Of course, it’s quite possible that one of them is an imposter and you won’t want to be alone with it. But probably not…these are just all cute!
Characters in the game Among Us don’t have faces like this, but we couldn’t resist adding a simple kawaii face. And to keep this simple, this crew has a flat space pack for easy stitching.
Now, your first task is to make some beanbag pals!
what you need:
- Felt
- Embroidery Floss
- Stuffing
- Coffee Beans or Other Large Dried Beans
- Needle
- Scissors
- Printable template
how-to:
Cut out the pieces for each space crew member. Use white felt for the face piece and a color for the other pieces.
Embroider the face with three strands of black embroidery floss. Use french knots for the eyes and a scallop stitch for the mouth.
Stitch the face to one end of the long oval shape. Use three strands of white embroidery floss and take tiny stitches around the edge of the felt.
Fold the oval in half, then squash the fold to make a flat base.
Stitch around the sides of the beanbag until you get near the other side. Add some stuffing to the top of the head.
Fill the bottom of the space crew member with beans. It helps to poke them down and into the stuffing a little. It will hold more than you expect!
Stitch the opening closed, forming the flat base like at the beginning.
This space crew is here to help you complete tasks as you go through your day, or maybe just make you smile.
Happy crafting!
