With five kids under 10, this Brooklyn couple wanted to create an urban version of their own Santa Cruz childhood experience. They combined three apartments, turning a second kitchen into a crafts room and a spare bedroom into a full-size playhouse.
They enlisted the help of the architects at Incorporated to tackle the ten-month renovation. The results speak for themselves!
The two sisters share this park-inspired bedroom, complete with a funky Pirelli rubber floor.
The closet in the girls’ bedroom was converted into a playhouse for the two sisters.
In the boys’ room, a plywood playhouse doubles as bunk beds for the two boys, complete with climbing wall and chalkboard. Two spare bunks were added to accommodate sleepovers.
An indoor tree house fills what was once a spare bedroom. Cole & Son’s Woods Wallpaper adds an outdoorsy feel to the space.
I totally love this blue piano in the living room. The children’s artwork is proudly displayed above it on matching blue shelves.
