What You Need
- Printable felt heart medal template (download here)
- Printable Valentine’s Day card (download here)
- Felt
- Brooch pin
- Cardboard
- Embroidery thread
- Needle
- Scissors
Step 1
Download the medal template and cut out the shapes. Trace the heart and circle onto the felt and cut them out.
Step 2
Choose an embroidery thread that is a darker shade than the color of your circle felt piece; this way stitches will look like an embossed design. Blanket stitch around the circle.
Step 3
Embroider a simple face using tiny straight stitches or cross stitches for eyes and nose. Use a fly stitch for the smiling mouth.
Step 4
Carefully sew the brooch pin onto the back of your felt heart. Avoid going all the way through the felt; stitch just below the surface so that the stitches don’t show on the right side of the heart piece. Thicker felt will make this easier.
Step 5
Now stitch your smiling felt medal onto the bottom of the heart brooch.
Step 6
Download and print the Valentine’s Day medal card onto sturdy paper. Cut it out, punch the two holes, and pin the felt medal through the holes.
Step 7
Fill in the blank with your loved one, add a cute envelope, and share your love!
Happy Valentine’s Day! ♥
