Whenever I go home to the North of England, I’m always so surprised by how green and lush everything is. It rains a lot of course, in fact, it rained most of the time I was there last week, but how beautiful the wild moorland and British countryside can be!

Rested, refreshed and back to our hot Mediterranean climate, I am pining for some of that greenery, and thinking of ways to bring more of the outside into our home. I’ve been meaning to set up a nature table to display my kids’ finds and artwork for ages, so that’s my first idea, but I’m also very inspired by trees. That’s right, trees are my next décor crush, maybe a new trend even, and I’ve found some beautiful designs for children’s rooms to share with you today.

I love these fresh Mediterranean Pine Tree decorations she added recently (free worldwide shipping until May 31st!), and can easily imagine them on a wall in a child’s room or office space – let nature in, I say!

Simple and minimal, this French shop has just added a pale wooden (poplar plywood) decoration to its inspiring collection, which I love. Prop it up on a shelf, stick it on a wall, let your children use it as a toy or scenery when they play … imagination knows no bounds!

Large Lambswool Tree Cushion

Tree plush toys are pretty popular right now, the most famous being Donna Wilson’s oak tree designs. British maker Sara Carr has a sweet etsy shop selling some really lovely lambswool items, including these huggable tree cushions for little and big ones alike.

Crocheted Tree Stump Poufs

A couple of years ago Miga de Pan, a favorite Argentinean maker of mine, collaborated with Italian company Seletti to create the Bosque line of tree stump seats. Available in design shops across the globe (see site for list of retailers), I think these cotton-crocheted poufs would add a natural touch to any modern kid’s room or communal play space.

Trees have obviously inspired lots of children’s furniture makers. Kostas Syrtariotis’ stylish tree bookcase will appeal to contemporary design lovers, and Herbie The Happy Tree BookShelf, who looks like he’s come straight out of a fairytale and is composed of 100% sustainable solid hardwoods, will surely delight little Magic Faraway Tree readers the world over.
