There is something special about the moon. It’s one of those mesmerizing things that can stop me in my tracks. I try so hard to appreciate it, and remember how far away it really is. Sometimes we take these things for grantd, don’t we?
Honor the moon and our place in the universe with some of these stellar (see what I did there? Ha, I crack myself up!) crafts and home DIYs. Whether you spruce up the sofa with a quick pillow upgrade, glam up a boring wall with some gold paint, or heck, throw a moon party with your very own moon pinata, there’s something here for you. Personally, I wish I had time to paint a moon globe, that project looks particularly cool to me!
DIY Moon Globe
See the tutorial at Make My Lemonade.
You can find actual moon globes out there, but making your own unique version sounds like much more fun. All it takes is a little paint and some patience!
Moon Phase Pillow
See the tutorial at Apartment Therapy.
Keep track of the moon with a soft, fluffy, comfortable reminder. Plus it’s quick to make – even quicker if you use a pre-sewn pillow cover.
Moon Phase Wall Hanging
See the tutorial at Almost Makes Perfect.
I love all the boho influences going on right now, but my husband … not so much. I think this wall hanging feels like a good compromise between his more modern vibe and my need for wall hangings. And it sounds fun to make too.
Moon Pinata
See the tutorial at Oh Happy Day.
So maybe you don’t have a starry party planned for the next month or two. Regardless, you could make this piñata now and hang it in the corner of every room for a little fun. Or turn your next Saturday afternoon into an impromptu party.
