Halloween is almost here! This year, we are not only doing our traditional Trick-or-Treat walk through the neighborhood; we are hosting a Halloween party for the kiddos! There will be costumes, decorations, funny food, games and party favors bags!
There are so many great DIY crafts for decorations and funny Halloween-themed foods, but my main concern? Treats! Or, rather, what to store them in. I love these toilet paper roll treat bags because they are simple, super quick and easy. And “super quick” is important, seeing as I still have to work on my costume…
For this craft, you really don’t need much. In fact, just look around the house! It’s likely you have everything you need already. You’ll need several paper towel rolls or toilet paper rolls, some paint and some black construction paper. Oh, and the most important part: all the yummy Halloween treats!
What You Need
- Colored construction paper
- Paper roll
- Scissors
- Black paint and paintbrush
- Hole punch
- Twine
- Tape
- Some treats, please!
How To
Step 1
Begin by painting your paper roll black, then let dry. Pinch one of the openings of the toilet paper roll together and tape shut. For a nicer finish, give the tape a quick brush of black paint. Fill your roll with candies, homemade treats or with chocolate bars. Once you’ve filled the roll, pinch the opening together – this time, in the opposite direction as the other end. You should be left with a cone-type shape. Tape this opening together and paint.
Step 2
Set aside your favor bag for now. On a sheet of your black construction paper, draw a circle. Cut out the circle and start to decorate it by drawing a funny Halloween face. Flip is over and add names, if you’d like, to personalize each favor bag!
Step 3
Using the hole punch, make a hole at the flat end of the favor bag and at the top of your construction paper head. Thread some twine through the favor bag and the construction paper head. Secure the head to the roll and tie off.
Repeat steps 1-3 until you have as many favor bags as you need for your party.
Happy Halloween!
