Father’s Day is right around the corner – we can’t believe how quickly it’s snuck up on us! We’ll find a reason to DIY for every occasion, but Father’s Day can sometimes be a tricky one! Is anyone else’s dad tough to find gifts for? Over the years, we’ve found that a great place to start is to have your kids make a list of things dad likes – this can be almost anything like food, places, music, or movies! Today we’re sharing some super fun crafts and activities perfect for nature and adventure loving dads, inspired by JUMANJI: Welcome to the Jungle! We watched Jumanji as a family earlier this year and had the best time! Now that it’s available on Digital, Blu-ray, and DVD, we decided to create a Father’s Day he’ll never forget with a Jumanji themed movie night!
Put dad’s favorite soda in a glass and decorate it with a colorful bandana and top it off with handmade animal drink stirrers. We used a handful of plastic animals from the dollar store for this – if dad has a favorite jungle animal, make sure to use those and use pom poms in his favorite colors!
Dads who love nature and camping will no doubt be big fans of these handmade binocular favors. Plus, they’re filled with candy so what’s not to like? We also included some printable Father’s Day coupons to put into Dad’s binoculars as well! And while you watch Jumanji this Father’s Day, kids and their dads can use these printable name tags to start a discussion about strengths and weaknesses with your whole family.

DIY Jungle Drinks
What You Need:
- Hot glue gun
- Bandanas
- Scissors
- Wooden skewers
- Mini plastic animals + figures
- Pom poms
How-To:
Step 1
Lay out the plastic figures into groupings and positions that you’re happy with.
Step 2
Hot glue the figures onto the ends of wooden skewers to make drink stirrers.
Step 3
To make the bandana drink decorations, cut the corner off of a bandana into a triangle shape.
Step 4
Starting at the wide end of the triangle, fold the bandana into a tube about ¾” wide.
Step 5
Tie the rolled bandana around your dad’s glass and repeat with more red bandanas so that the whole family has matching cups!
Fill the cups with dad’s favorite soda or drink, and put in your drink stirrers too.
Printable Jumanji Nametags
What You Need:
- Printable name tags
- Sticker-back paper
- Scissors
- Marker
How-To:
Step 1
Print out the tags onto white sticker-back paper and cut them apart.
Step 2
Fill in your own strengths and weaknesses as a family.
DIY Binocular Favors
What You Need:
- Cardstock (black)
- Craft foam (black & white)
- Cardboard tubes (2 sizes)
- Scissors
- Craft knife
- Double-sided tape
- Tape
- Hot glue gun
- Ruler
- Black yarn or cord
- Pencil
- Printable Father’s Day coupons
How-to:
Step 1
Cut your black cardstock to match the size of the cardboard tubes. Attach the paper onto the tube with double-sided tape and then wrap around the tubes to cover completely. Each pair of binoculars needs two matching tubes, about the size of a toilet paper rolls. Once the outside is covered, do the same for the inside.
Step 2
Repeat step 1 but this time use a mini cardboard roll – it should be narrower and shorter than the other two matching rolls you just covered.
Step 3
Trace the two matching rolls onto white craft foam with pencil and cut out. Attach a circle onto the end of each tube using clear tape. It’s totally okay if the tape is visible, it’ll be hidden later.
Step 4
Cut black craft foam into strips about 1” wide. Next you’ll want to attach them onto the end of each craft tube – make sure you do this on the ends with white circles. These strips of black craft foam will hide any tape that was on the edge from before.
Step 5
To assemble, set the two matching tubes beside each other. Next set the mini tube in between them and use hot glue to attach the mini tube to the matching tubes. It should really look like a pair of binoculars now!
Step 6
Tape a piece of yarn inside each of the binocular tubes, making the neck strap.
Step 7
Fill the binoculars with candy and treats! Make sure to add dad’s favorite treats: mini candy bars, pom poms, and hand-written notes are perfect! And don’t forget to print out a handful of Father’s Day coupons and put those in – there are ready-to-use ones, but you’ll want to fill in a few especially for your dad too!
