It’s all about color this time of year. Between back to school shopping and the end of season summer blooms: everywhere we turn there’s color to see! Bring some of it back into your home to keep you company this fall with this bright collection of DIY projects.
It’s like the geometric trend has been super-sized. Everyone is taking the small geometric patterns (triangles, chevrons, stripes) and zooming in until all that’s left is a portion of a shape, and I love the look of that. It’s bold, it’s modern, and minimal too. Whether you go purist with the wooden bowls, or silly with the honeycomb rings, or somewhere in between, I think you’ll find something to make here!

How impossibly cute are these stunners? Make a set for the kids this weekend, or keep this tutorial handy for your next birthday party.
Rope Lamp

Did you know you can make a rope lamp with a balloon? Yep, I didn’t know either. But this one turns out amazing – and the pop of color is just right.
Pom Pom Wall Hanging
Tutorial via Sugar and Cloth
Pom poms can’t be beat, and this color palette really elevates them to a whole new level. I’m staring at a boring wall in my house right this second and thinking, yep, it needs one of these. Like, now.
Painted Geometric Garland
Tutorial via Julep
So many garlands and banners out there, and yet this one feels completely fresh. The simple shapes make it a cinch to make, too.
Laser Cut Bookends
Tutorial via Brit+Co
Okay, yeah, they recommend you find a local shop to cut these shapes with a laser cutter, but I’m here to tell you a jigsaw would work just fine. Or, grab some precut letters from the craft store and create the same colorful look. Easy peasy!
