I love silly crafts and games. They’re the best! These nesting animals made from recycled boxes are simple to make and look so cute. It’s a perfect paint & play craft activity to do with your kids!
Younger children will have fun playing with their new friends while learning about size, weight, and placement by fitting one animal box inside another.
Start with elephant, lovely cow, friendly dog, and naughty cat. Then add different animals like a brave lion or a fierce crocodile or a tiny rat. Ask your kids what their favorite animals are and start crafting!
What You Need
- Recycled boxes (different sizes)
- Brush and paint
- Marker
- Hot glue gun & glue
- Scissors
Step 1
Disassemble the boxes. Cut off the bottom flaps so that the smaller boxes can fit inside.
Step 2
Turn the boxes inside out and reassemble, gluing the flaps to fix the piece.
Step 3
Draw your favorite animal ears onto cardboard, adding a 1/2-inch flap. Cut out the pieces, fold down the flaps and glue them to the top or a side of the animal head.
Step 4
Now draw your animal faces and paint them!
Your new nesting animals are ready to play. ☺
Enjoy!
