Say hello to these hungry little monsters! They are ready to have some fun this Halloween. Best part about them? They double as a candy bag to collect all of your Halloween treats. Simply open their mouths to “feed” them as many sweets as they can hold, until they’re bursting at the seams!
This is a super easy family craft project. It’s really fast and you don’t need lots of supplies – just a tea box and something to decorate them with. Even if you don’t need a bag for Halloween, you can use them as a funny box for keeping kids’ stationery, tools, tapes, jewelry or treasures. Let’s start!
What You Need
- Tea cardboard box
- Ribbon trim
- Felt
- Wrapping paper, tissue paper, terry or faux fur fabric, or paint to decorate
- Googly eyes
- Pom-poms
- Glue stick
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
How To
Step 1
Cut off the two top box flaps from the inside of the box and decorate the outside by wrapping with gift or tissue paper. You can also simply paint it! Once it’s dried, you can flip it over and decorate the inside as well.
Step 2
Assemble your tea box again using a hot glue gun.
Step 3
Cut out some teeth shapes from felt and two felt circles a bit bigger than your googly eyes.
Step 4
Open the box and lay it down, then glue felt teeth all along the inside flap of the cover. Flip the box over and glue a big pom-pom centered on the top. Then glue felt circles and googly eyes to each side of the pom-pom.
Step 5
Measure the length you want your bag to be and cut off a piece of ribbon of that size. Glue each end to one side of the box.
Step 6
You can create different monsters by changing paper for terry or faux fur fabric. In this case, you don’t need to disassemble the box – just wrap, and glue, only the outside of the box. You can also paint the inside to complete a Halloween look.
Now you can feed your hungry monsters all of the sweets and candies!
