No oven? No problem! You can still make adorable Christmas stocking cookies to share with teachers, friends, co-workers, and neighbors! Make them at home with the kids, or put them out for a holiday party. Not only are they festive, but they’re delicious too! I do adore making sugar cookies with my kids each year because it’s tradition, but it was so nice to whip up these stocking cookies without the hassle of rolling out dough. These would have been perfect back in the day when I lived in a dorm with a bunch of girls. We had a little community kitchen, but it was difficult to track down all the measuring cups and supplies. All these no-bake cookies require are some Milanos, candy melts, and a microwave…a perfectly dorm-friendly cookie recipe!
what you need:
- Milano cookies
- Candy melts
- Microwave-safe bowls
- Coconut flakes
- Sharp knife
- Microwave
- Spoon
- Wax paper
- Olive oil (optional)
how-to:
Cut your Milano cookie at an angle to create the foot of the stocking, and cut another Milano at the same angle, leaving a long piece for the stocking body. Cut the rounded end off the top.
Follow the instructions on your candy melt package, and you may add a tiny bit of olive oil to the melted candy to make it extra smooth. Dip the stocking foot in the candy melts until completely covered. You may have to roll it around a bit until it appears smooth on the cookie. Set on wax paper. Dip the stocking body in the candy, and attach to the foot. Use your finger to add some melted candy to the area where the two cookies meet in order to eliminate any visible lines. You may smooth it out by rubbing your finger around that area in small circular motions. Allow to harden completely.
Use a knife to cut off any excess candy around the stocking. Melt white candy melts, and dip the top inch of the stocking in the candy. You may dip the ankle and toe as well, but it looks cute either way. While the candy is still warm, add coconut flakes to the top, and allow to cool.
